About the event

A blended learning approach to teach the learner the principles of basic first aid. First Aid is the minimum required qualification for all workplaces in South Africa (as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act).

  • Part 5 Scene Management / Situation Assessment
  • Part 6  Elementary Anatomy & Physiology
  • Part 7  Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Part 8 Artificial Respiration
  • Part 9 Shock & Fainting
  • Part 10 Wounds & Bleeding
  • Part 11 Other Injuries, Electrocution, Burns, Bites, Stings, Outdoor emergencies
  • Part 12 Fractures
  • Part 13 Head, neck & spine
  • Part 14 Lifestyle Diseases, heart, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy
  • Part 15  workplace action plan

Entrance requirements: 

Read, write, & understand English Math literacy (ABET Level 3 – Grade 7) 

Grade 9 certificate

Duration: 2+ days

Assessment: 

Workbook completion (requires 85% to pass) 

Practical demonstration of First Aid skills 

If found ‘not yet competent’, an attendance certificate will be issued.

Award: 

SETA accredited competence certificate (approx. 6 months) Digital certificate.  Attendance certificates will be issued to all candidates attending training within 10 working days from successful completion of training.
