Are you responsible for the process of overseeing Fire Safety or who needs to know how to use a fire extinguisher?

This is the RITE course for you. You will be capable of identifying, containing, preventing and extinguishing different types of fires by operating basic firefighting equipment.

SETA accredited competence certificate

(approx. 6 months), Valid for 3 Years

Attendance certificates will be issued to all individuals attending training within 10 working days from successful completion of training.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Read, write, & understand English

Math literacy (ABET Level 3 – Grade 7)

Grade 9 certificate Skills certificate equivalent NQF Level 1

Certified copy of your ID document

IDEAL FOR

All employees responsible for

workplace firefighting and

appointed workplace firefighters,

or persons who want to gain greater knowledge about workplace firefighting and basic fire prevention.

It is useful to have a fire marshal complete this programme, as they act as the backup for the appointed workplace firefighter

ASSESSMENT

Workbook completion (requires 85% to pass)

Formative assessment: Various activities will be completed during the class with homework assignments.

Summative assessment: Written test

Practical exercise

If found ‘not yet competent’,

an attendance certificate will be issued

Do you have a certified Basic Fire Fighter on site at all times?

This course will be useful for employees who may be responsible for functions within the workplace that relate to fire-fighting activities.
